they would like to conduct in an area of study. Choose any topic from 
Skillful 4.

relevant to your research topic 
2. Demonstrate critical understanding of the range of ethical 
considerations of undertaking research 
3. Formulate a research proposal, including selecting appropriate 
research methods, on any one of the assignment topics given or a topic

Introduction (approximately 100 words)

Guidelines for Introductory section
Introduction: You should give a brief outline of your area of research 
interest. The title, research aims, research questions and methodology 
should be discussed. 
Literature review (approximately 700 words) 
This section should provide the context for the study and an overview of 
relevant literature. 
What do we already know about the topic (from the peer-reviewed literature)? 
How can your research add to the literature? 
Methodology (approximately 600 words)

The Oral Presentation Assessment is compulsory for all English Advanced 
students and is one of three assessment components. It will be conducted in 
person at MDIST
from 22- 26 May.
