Team coach profiles Al Hilal Giorgos Donis Former Greece international midfielder Giorgos Donis was appointed as Al Hilal’s coach for the rest of the season on February 28, replacing Romanian Ciprian Panait, who had been put in charge of the team in the middle of the month after the dismissal of Laurentiu Reghecampf. The 45-year-old Donis, who retired as a player in 2001, managed clubs in Greece and Cyprus before accepting the Al Hilal position.
A former Al Sadd midfielder, Hussein Amotta replaced AFC Champions League-winning coach Jorge Fossati in July 2012 and the Moroccan successfully led the club to their first Qatar Stars League title in six years in his first season in charge. Amotta first joined Al Sadd as a player in 1997 from Saudi side Al Riyadh and he won a league championship and several cup titles with the Doha club before leaving for United Arab Emirates side Sharjah in 2001. He became player-coach of Moroccan side Zemmouis in 2003 and he led another of his former clubs, FUS Rabat, to victory in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2010 before he returned to Al Sadd Foolad Khouzestan Dragan Skokic Former Croatian midfielder Dragan Skokic took charge of Foolad Khouzestan last May following the resignation of Hossein Faraki after the team’s last 16 exit from the AFC Champions League. The former Croatian midfielder, who played for clubs in Spain and the United Arab Emirates, began his coaching career at his home town club Rijeka and led them to back-to-back Croatian Cups before he joined Slovenia's Interblock Ljubljana. The 46-year- old had spells in charge of Kuwait's Al Arabi and Saudi giants Al Nassr before he moved to Iran in 2013 to coach Malavan and then Foolad Khouzestan.
Vadim Abrimov A highly experienced tactician, Vadim Abramov returned for a second spell as head coach of Lokomotiv last year and led the Tashkent club to victory in the Uzbek Cup and second place in the league. Abramov was born in Azerbaijan but spent much of his playing career in Uzbekistan before he became coach of Tashkent giants Pakhtakor in 1988 following his retirement as a player. The 52-year-old had his first stint at Lokomotiv in 2008 and left to become Uzbekistan’s head coach in 2010, leading the national team to fourth place in the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.

Foolad Khouzestan
Making just their second appearance in the AFC Champions League in 2014, Foolad Khouzestan were eliminated from the tournament without losing a game. They topped their group in the opening round but were eliminated on away goals by Al Sadd in the last 16 after both legs were drawn.
It took a bit of the shine off an otherwise memorable season for the club as they captured the Iranian league championship after finishing two points ahead of runners-up Persepolis following a dramatic 1-0 win over Gostaresh Foolad Tabriz on the final day of the season.

Lokomotiv Formed in 2002, Lokomotiv enjoyed their best season to date in 2014 when they finished runners-up in the Uzbek League for the second year in a row and captures their first piece of domestic silverware as Jasur Hasanov’s extra-time winner gave them a 1-0 win over Bunyodkor in the Uzbek Cup final.
That victory gave the Tashkent club a slot in the AFC Champions League Group Stage for the first time after they were eliminated in the Play-offs in the past two years, losing against Al Nasr of the United Arab Emirates in 2013 and Kuwait SC last year.
