To ensure the food security of the world's population, the role and importance of the agricultural sector is very large. Considering the above, our republic is working on the reasonable use of land resources, guaranteed provision of the population with food, increasing productivity and stimulating and widely introducing the achievements of science and technology in the field of agriculture.

One of the areas of agriculture is the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 60% of drugs are produced on the basis of medicinal herbs and plants. At present, 112 types of medicinal herbs and plants are allowed to be used in medicine in Uzbekistan, and 80% of them are local natural medicinal plants.
To improve the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, the President of Uzbekistan adopted Decree No. 4670 dated April 10, 2020 “On measures for the protection, cultural cultivation, processing of wild medicinal plants and the rational use of available resources”.
In the Decree, specific tasks for the development of the industry and ways to solve them are set for industry specialists.
