Title: Why is Life Without the Internet Ineffective

1.0 Introduction

The internet is one of the technological advances of the twenty-first century. It is difficult to conceive and think in the modern world without the internet. The internet has provided us with many opportunities and made it simpler for people to interact and lead active lives. The world wide web has permeated everyone's existence and emerged as a major trend. Without the internet, some occupations could not exist. This initiative seeks to understand the effects of people depending less on the internet.

2.0 Literature Review:

2.1 One of humankind's most amazing creations is the Internet. We haven't had much time to step back from the medium and look at it more systematically, as a new environment that can have significant effects on our behavior, because the Internet explosion occurred so quickly. (1999, p. 8; Cambridge University Press). The military in the USA developed the first version of the contemporary Internet in the late 1960s (Evan, 2013). Then, on October 29, 1969, the Internet began to take shape. The first transmission over the internet was a "node-to-node" exchange between two computers. Both computers were about the size of a small home; the first was in a research lab in Los Angeles, and the second was at Stanford. The "Log in" communication was short and to the point, but it crashed the nascent ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) because Stanford's computer could only decipher the first two letters of the message. "Thus, LO— as in Lo and behold—was the first communication posted on the Internet, according to Kleinrock. "We didn't plan it, but we couldn't have thought of a more succinct and prophetic statement." (The First Letter on the Internet from UCLA | UCLA 100, 2021). In 2020, there were 306.4 billion emails sent and received each day. (Nick, 2021). The economic impact could be catastrophic if the net were to somehow collapse. While the absence of services like internet banking or PayPal may be upsetting, the outcomes may also be very favorable. Any internet service could be unavailable. Large corporations like Google or Amazon would immediately become outdated. Large portions of the activities of other organizations, like Microsoft, might disappear. Even businesses that merely use the internet for advertising could suffer a setback. Many groups would stop operating as businesses if the collapse were to be either permanent or protracted. Countless numbers of people may not have jobs. Google has almost 114,000 employees (Jennifer, 2020). The market would be overrun with people looking for employment as many businesses would be closing or cutting back on the number of employees. For instance, an internet outage struck Amazon in 2013. The e-commerce behemoth has lost about £2 million in sales as a result, and online traffic has decreased by 40%. But it wasn't days, or even hours before this mistake was fixed. It only took thirty minutes. (What will happen if the internet is down? 2021).

3.0 Research Methodology

3.1 The survey looks at how well individuals can function without the internet. A sample of 35 students from the international institution in Tashkent took part in an online and offline survey, as did 23 random participants from the workforce, seniors, and students. The age span was between 14 and 64. Men made up 34 individuals (60%) compared to 24 women (40%) in total. These respondents, who were chosen at random from a variety of academic levels and exceptional majors, included students, professionals in various occupations, and retired people. 35 first-year students from the foreign university, 8 students from local schools (3 females and 5 males), 8 elderly people (5 males and 3 females), 2 IT specialists (2 males), 3 accountants (2 females and a male), and 2 teachers made up the group (2 female). Interviews were conducted in this regard. All of the respondents were informed of the purpose of the study and given the assurance that their responses would remain private and would not, regardless of the results, be subject to any further influence. Every participant received and signed a consent document before the discussion. This consent document serves as a guarantee of their privacy. People respond to the topic of how effective or ineffective life would be without the internet. To better understand why they think that living without a global network has a positive or negative effect, I chose to ask them in person. The main goal was to understand and evaluate popular opinion.

4.2 Analysis

Responses to questions have been listed below

4.3 Evaluation

The results of the survey questionnaire clearly showed that the majority of respondents believe it to be true that they cannot picture their lives without the internet. because a growing number of individuals are already dependent on the Internet. Participants also believe that since more occupations now involve the internet, life would be worse without it. Ultimately, responses from participants demonstrate that humans cannot survive successfully without the worldwide internet. It implies that the internet has ingrained itself into our daily existence. In the end, responses from participants demonstrate that people cannot possibly survive without the worldwide internet.

5.0 Conclusion

The study concluded that the internet has already assimilated into our daily lives. The internet generally improves people's lives, even though it may contain some unreliable, harmful sources that could damage users. It makes their lives simpler and enables them to quickly locate the needed information. However, it's important to use the internet responsibly; otherwise, issues might occur. The internet is incredibly important to our daily lives. Consequently, we are unable to even imagine living without it.
