(WITHOUT -coloured): ‘Her new dress is pale blue with red buttons down the front.’
Adjectives ending with -coloured are quite rare. They are mainly used when the colour of
something is difficult to describe exactly (‘pink coloured’ = not exactly pink) and usually come
