1. Guidelines for teaching the academic discipline 
 
"Tribology" studies the basic tribological patterns for solving specific 
design, technological and operational problems related to friction, wear and 
lubrication in machines and mechanisms, as well as the targeted selection of 
materials with the necessary physical and mechanical properties, degree of 
accuracy, surface quality and operating conditions of parts in mobile connections. 
The main objective of the discipline is to study the basic tribological 
patterns for solving specific design, technological and operational problems 
related to friction, wear and lubrication in machines and mechanisms, as well as 
the targeted selection of materials with the necessary physical and mechanical 
properties, degree of accuracy, surface quality and operating conditions. parts in 
moving joints. 
As a result of studying the course "Fundamentals of Tribotechnics", the 
Student must: 
- basics of designing mechanisms; -requirements for parts, performance 
criteria and factors affecting them; - use design documentation to the extent 
sufficient to solve operational problems; to carry out a rational choice of structural 
and operational materials. 
- master systematic information about the structure, properties of various 
metallic materials: - engineering terminology in the field of production of 
technological machines and equipment; skills in organizing the technical 
operation of technological machines and complexes. 
- be able to analyze the conditions of influence of external environments and 
operating conditions for machine parts, tools, structures for various purposes, 
determine the requirements for the properties that the materials used must satisfy, 
select materials for the manufacture of products according to a given set of 
mechanical, physical and chemical properties (MPC).
