I will talk about Musem of the history of Margilan city. The museum consists of 2 sections. There is a ticket office on the left at the entrance. On the second floor, I saw the history of ancient Margilan. I was able to see historical landmarks belonging to ancient times. Also in museums, I saw the materials that Margilan is famous for. Since ancient times, this region has been famous as the largest center for the production of silk. Margilan annually hosts the international fustival of silk Atlas Bayrami.

The museums were presented with silk looms that were used in ancient times.

In 2017, by the decision of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, the manufacturing technology of the Uzbek traditional atlas and adras was included in the UNESCO Register of Excellence.

In Margilan there are ancient schools of pottery. More than 1000 families in Margilan are engaged in handicrafts. More than 500 artisans from Margilan are members of the Hunarmand National Association

At the end of the 19th century, Margilan was known for its silk production, textiles, woodcarving, duppiduz, copper, and ticket printing,was famous throughout Central Asia for its embroidery and handicrafts. A total of 1638 business entities were registered in Margilan. There are more than 600 small and private enterprises, firms, 1477 small businesses. Among them are private enterprises such as “Alisher Navoi” , “ Margilan Asian Textile” Factory and Margilan Bakhmali.
