A survey of plant

My dissertation theme is Fauna of parasitic phytonematodes of vegetable crops in greenhouse conditions and its dynamics

A survey of plant-parasitic nematode genera associated with certain greenhouse vegetable crops was

conducted in Samarkand region, central of Uzbekistan. In this respect, a total of 349 roots and rhizosphere

soil samples were collected from the surveyed plants as follows: tomato, Solanum lycopersicum

annuum (26); green beans, Phaseolus vulgaris (22); and squash, Cucurbita pepo (8). Nematodes were

extracted by centrifugal flotation and identified at the generic level using the standard identification keys.

Vegetables are intensively grown for fresh marketing in Uzbekistan. A significant increase in the cultivated area under green-

house conditions has been shown, over time, especially for tomato

and cucumber crops. In the recent years, the total area and produc-

tion of vegetables under greenhouse farming was 3019 ha and

252,824 tons in 2016. Tomato and cucumber occupied the first

and second ranks among the greenhouse vegetable crops in Uzbekistan, with a cultivated area of 1149 and 885 ha, and a total pro-

duction of 91,920 and 79,650 tons, respectively

They concluded the positive effects of grafting on plant growth, productivity, and water use efficiency, which support this strategy as a useful tool for improving water stress tolerance in greenhouses. Almohithef et al. [35] presented a survey of plant-parasitic nematode genera associated with certain greenhouse vegetable crops in Uzbekistan. It is known that the plant-parasitic nematodes are serious pathogens attacking vegetable crops that are grown in domestic greenhouses. ..
