My Dream Job

My dream job would be a veterinarian. I have always wanted to be a veterinarian 
because the job is full of recognition and love. A veterinarian is trained to give medical 
care and treatment to sick animals. I love animals and I cannot bear to see them 
suffering, so I think that by being a veterinarian, I can save them from their illnesses 
with my own hands and I would be glad to do so. I have seen veterinarians in 
newspapers, websites and by experience before, and I feel like being one in the future 
because they are like heroes in my perspective. They treat people and pets, and I bet 
they enjoy doing it themselves. If I were them, I would love to see myself treating pets 
and making them feel better. It is great to see the happiness in animals. I hope that I 
would be able to succeed in my goal and become the one to save pets from suffering, 
the one to bring them their smiles once again.
Veterinarians consider their job a calling, a way to help animals. Vets spend 8 to 10 
years attending college and veterinary school, and their working hours often exceed 50 
hours a week, with some newer vets working 12 hours a day. It’s really hard. 
When I was 4 or maybe 5 years old, I wanted to be a veterinarian because I loved 
animals. Actually I still love them, but as I grew old, I realized that I couldn’t be a 
veterinarian because I would cry all the time thinking, “Oh my god, poor little thing.” 
At that point, I said to myself, “Tammy, you know you would panic and cry your guts 
out instead of saving animals’ lives. That is not good being a veterinarian.” So I stopped 
thinking that my dream job would be a vet. But after 6 years, I find that my dream job 
has remained the same, which is to be a veterinarian. So I won’t give up. I think I 
should study and study. I want to be a zoo veterinarian. However, their job is very hard 
because the medical problems can be multiplied greatly as there varied species in a zoo. 
There are also companion animals veterinarians. They take care of the general public 
pet.
I wish the dream would come true. I need to work hard! I think I will get my dream 
job in the future.
