My profession.
I'm a student of the Economics department. After graduating from college Im going to qualify as an economist. Nowadays the profession of an economist is one of the most important in our country.
There are a lot of different trades and professions, and each one must choose the occupation in which he or she can best develop one’s own talent and abilities. Our society needs well-educated people. Nowadays the profession of an economist has become one the most useful, modern and interesting. That is because our country is moving towards market economy and different forms of property are being established. There is a place for an economist at every plant and factory. An economist exercises different functions. He or she can determine the structure of an enterprise and calculate costs as well as probable profits. An economist analyses the condition of the market and prospects for its development in the future. His or her practical use of electronic computers is a must. The activities of an economist at an enterprise range from bookkeeper control the financial state of an enterprise and perform a lot of useful calculations. A manager is an actual administrator. Having a good command of the economic situation in the region and the demands of the market a person with an economist’s diploma may establish his own business, or he may become a partner of a joint venture. It is very important for an economist to know a foreign language, especially English.
That is because contracts between our country and many countries of the world are becoming wider with every coming day. Every economist has a chance to go abroad or to deal with foreign businessmen coming to our country. But to become a good economist one must work hard and get not only theoretical knowledge but also great practical skills
An economist should have a good training in economic theory, mathematics and statistics. At the college we are taught various general and special subjects, such as Management, Accounting, Marketing, Finances, Statistics, Computer sciences, Foreign Languages, etc.
An economist needs some knowledge of the world because business is connected with the world economy. Some knowledge of political and economic history will help us to understand better the economic laws of the development of the society. The profession of an economist includes various activities. The graduates of our department work at enterprises, in industry, business, banks, etc. You may continue your study at a University if you want to become a highly qualified specialist.
Being employed in industry and business, the graduates of our college work as managers, as executive managers, sales managers, financial managers. Some of them work as accountants.
Knowing the economic laws of the development of the society, economists can solve many problems which they are faced with in this country and we hope a good economist is able to contribute to the process of the countrys development.
When I start to think about my future profession, I imagine that I work in a big company with people and do very important things. I imagine that I am an economist. I like to work with numbers, with the computer, I like to communicate with different people.
Just a few months ago I realized I can be an economist. My choice was not easy, because there are many different professions. I wanted to be a teacher or a doctor. But later on I have decided that the best thing for me is to become an economist.
I want to become an economist. I like to study mathematics and make calculations, so I think this profession suits me.

Today all the companies need professional people. Lawyers, programmers, managers and of course economists play a very important role in developing of any company. If I succeed to become a part of this company, I will be proud of myself all my life. I think it's important to find your vocation in the life. Nowadays it is very difficult to make the right choice for a teenager. I am sure we are able to change our decisions but it's important to choose with the heart.
At all times there were special professions that enjoyed the greatest popularity among all existing professions. In the modern world, one of the most popular professions is the profession of an economist, according to the prevalence and popularity with this profession, only the profession of a lawyer can compare. But it is worthwhile to understand that the factor of popularity and prevalence has the reverse side of the coin. As a rule, the more popular one or another profession, the more professionals with a corresponding diploma exist and the greater the competition in a certain field of knowledge is present. All this forces you to try harder than all those who choose, in particular, the profession of an economist.
But, if I were not sure of myself and my own strength, I would never have chosen this profession for myself. What good is the profession of an economist? First, its universality. There are many concrete works that an economist can perform. He can work in a commercial or state bank. The bank as no other institution should be able to count money, economists are needed there always and for all tasks. For a person who graduated from the economics department with good grades, as a rule, it is not difficult to find a job in the bank, because they work very much and they have a lot of staff. The economist is also useful in the civil service.
Our fatherland requires qualified specialists to plan and conduct a variety of economic activities. In general, there are always many vacancies on the labor market for economists, beginning with accountants who are needed at every serious enterprise, and ending with civil servants. After all, the great advantage is that economists are paid well enough, because they carry out heavy mental work.
Of course, in this profession there are certain shortcomings, which you should also know about. The importance of understanding the shortcomings is important, since a person must prepare in advance for troubles of a certain kind, for the complexities with which he may face on his future work. I think that working as an economist is not very fun. In fact, this is a very monotonous work, requiring a person to constantly do the same thing, and this can very much get bored. However, the most important thing is that I am ready for this. A person who is going to work as an economist should be prepared for this kind of difficulties in order to find a way out of the problem when this is relevant.
Today economists work a lot and they have good money. Of course you need to have good experience and knowledge. You have to love and enjoy your job. I see I will be a very successful and professional economist. I speak with my relatives who have this job and they are very happy about their choice.
I am sure one day my family will be proud of me because I have made my choice already and I do my best to get high results.
