something hidden or secret which is naturally unknown to hu-
man reason and is only known by revelation of God.
Dreams are the avenue by which God can speak secrets 
to us. The Lord spoke through Moses about 1,400 B.C. that: 
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but 
those things, which are revealed, belong to us and 
to our children forever, that we may do all the 
words of this law (Deut. 29:29). 
The Lord has many secrets, which He wants to reveal 
to us. He wants to give us new revelation. Through dreams we 
can know more of His personality, His heart, His plans. His 
desire is to get closer to us, and reveal Himself to us. There are 
so many aspects of His personality that we do not understand. 
The disciples one time asked the Lord why He spoke 
in parables. 
He answered and said to them “Because it has 
been given to you to know the mysteries of the 
Kingdom of heaven but to them it has not been 
given” (Matt. 13:11). 
Now we can say: “We are His disciples and we need to 
know the mysteries of the Kingdom of heaven.” Jesus said to 
Nicodemus, who came to Him by night, that he could not “see” 
the kingdom of God, unless he was born again. We need to un-
derstand the mysteries so we can abide in that kingdom with all 
its power. 
Paul spoke of the mystery of God, both of the Father 
and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom 
and knowledge (Col. 2:2,3). If our desire is to know Him more, 
we must first read His Word every day, and spend time in 
prayer and listening.
