ABSTRACT: The topic of national and cultural specifics is quite traditional for research in the
field of phraseology. For many years, works on phraseology (especially if they were carried out
within the framework of traditional linguistics) argued that phraseological units are nationally
specific units of the language that accumulate the cultural potential of the people. The purpose
of this article is to describe the features of national-cultural aspect in the language picture of
the world in phraseological units in the Russian and Uzbek languages.
Keywords : National, Units, problem, Phraseology, specific.
These days, the study of the comparative analysis of phraseological units in the
linguocultural aspect has attracted the attention of many linguists. The comparative study of
phraseological systems of different languages is vitally important for the development of
general linguistics, translation studies, lexicology, lexicography, phraseogr and other sciences.
One of the most pressing problems of modern linguistics is the identification of national
cultures in phraseological units (PUs) and find out the similarities and differences between
languages as well as the drawing theoretical conclusions. Interaction between language and
culture and its manifestation in phraseology has been researched by V.N Teliya, V.V Vorobyev,
V.A Maslova, I.G Olshanskiy, M.L Kovshova, A.N Baranov and D.O Dobrovolskiy, T.Z
Cherdantseva, Ye.O. Oparina, in Uzbek linguistics A.E. Mamatov and B. Boltaeva, H. Kholikova,
A.A. Nosirov, E. Kholmurodova and other linguists. Theoretical problems of comparative
analysis on the example of several languages were studied by L.I. Royzeison Ye.F. Arsenteva,
T.N Fedulenkova, L.R Sakaeva and Y.V Krepkogorskaya. Comparative analysis of linguocultural
features of phraseology in English and Uzbek languages is considered in the works of A.E
Mamatov, G.E Hakimova, F.S Azizova and other linguists. Problems of comparative, areal and
structural-typological study of phraseology and comparative theory of phraseology were first
introduced in the works of L.I. Royzeison and Yu.Yu. Avalini (1967). A.D. Reichstein divides
language material into three groups in the synchronous comparison of phraseological structure
of two or more languages: 1) comparison of special phraseologisms; 2) comparison of
phraseological groups or structural categories in phraseology; 3) comparison of the whole
phraseological system [1,p 3]. The inseparable link between language and culture, language and
thought was first expressed in the works of W. von Humboldt: “Language is the external
expression of the spirit of the people: the language of the people is their spirit, the spirit of the
people is their language. It's hard to find anything more similar" [2, 68] According to Sepir
"Language is an integral component of the form of ethnic perception of the world." In the 90s
of the XX century, at the intersection of linguistic and cultural paradigms, a new field –
linguaculturology – began to appear. The purpose of linguaculturology is “the relationship
between culture and the language of consumption, the linguistic and non-linguistic (cultural)
content of the units that reflect this process as a whole structure based on modern priorities
and cultural views (norms and a system of universal values) [3]. According to V.N Telia,
linguoculturology is a branch of ethnolinguistics that focuses on the study and description of
the synchronous relationship between language and culture. V.A. Maslova describes
