A natural disaster is the negative impact following an actual occurance of natural hazard in the event that it significantly harms a community. A natural disaster can cause loss of life or damage property and typically leaves come economic damage in its wake. About Natural Disasters Tornado A tornado is a violently rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of the Earth and a cumulonimbus cloud. Tornado can be in primarily spring and summer, but can be at any time of year. Various types of Tornadoes include the multiple vortex tornado, landspout, and waterspout. Hurricane A Hurricane is a type of storm called a tropical cyclone, which forms over tropical or subtropical waters. A tropical cyclone is a rotating low-pressure weatrher system that has organized thunderstorms but no fronts. Hurricanes originate in the Atlantic basin, which includes the Atlantic Ocean, Carribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and the eastern North Pacific Ocean. Earthquakes An earthquake is the shaking of the surface of the Earth resulting from a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s lithosphere that creates seismic waves. Earthquakes can range in intensity, from those that are so weak that they cannot be felt, to those violent enough to probel objects and people into the air. Wildfires A wildfire, forest fire, bushfire is an unplanned fire in an area of combustible vegetation. Wildfire is an unplanned fires that burns in a natural area such as forest and grassland. Wildfires are often caused by human activity or a natural phenomenon such as lightining and they can happen at any time or anywhere. Wildfires release carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere, exacerbating global warming and sever cases. Tsunami Tsunamis are giant waves caused by earthquakes or volcanic eruptions under the sea. A Tsunami is a series of waves in a water caused by the displacement of a large volime of water. Tsunami waves do not resemble normal undersea currents or sea waves because their wavelength is far longer. Tsunamis generally consist of a series of waves with periods ranging from minutes to hours. The term “tsunami” is borrowing from the Japanese meaning “harbor wave”. Volcanoes A volcano is a rupture n the crust of a planetary mass object, such as Earth, that allows hot lava, volcanic ash and gases escape from a magma chamber below the surface. On Earth volcanoes are most often found where tectonic plates are diverging or converging and most are found underwater. Other planets besides Earth have volcanoes. For example, Mercury has pyroclastic deposits formed by explosive volcanic activity. Winter Storms A winter storm is an event in which wind coincides with varieties of precipitation that only occur at freezing temperatures, such as snow, mixed snow and rain or freezing rain. Winter Storms can bring cold temperatures, power failures, loss of communication sevices and icy roads. Winter storms create a higher risk of car accidents, hypothermia, frostbite and others. Natural disasters are changes which are so great they may cause damage to the shape of the land or to the lives of people and other living things. Great changes happen deep inside the Earth and on its surface. The changes on the outer part of the Earth happen because of different kinds of weather. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION
