Particularly his articles openly criticizing the actual problems that 
prevent our country of further progress are very important on the 
present stage of development of the society. 
For his articles T. Rahmatullaev became the winner of the contest 
«The best journalist of the year» in Uzbekistan in 1997, and in the 
Samarkand region in 1999.
In 2000-2001 he won two prizes in the competition for the best 
articles among professional journalists organized by the 
Representation of UN in Uzbekistan. 
Besides he won the first place in the contest «The role of the 
political party in the society», organized by the Fund of Conrade 
Ardenauer in 2001. In 2002 he became the winner of the contest for 
the best article, organized by the Representation of UN in Uzbekistan 
and Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation — Uzbekistan 
devoted to the International Day of Freedom of press. 
He was in USA, Germany, Russia on business and wrote a number 
of articles about information sources in these countries. 
He was a participant of over than 60 international and regional 
conferences and seminars. For many of them he made reports. 
On the bases of project made by T Rahmatullaev the newspaper 
Samarkand twice in 1995 and 1999 won a grant of the Eurasia

Foundation. The second grant was used for the project of increasing 
the law education of journalists of the Samarkand region. And in 2003 
the Open Society Institute Assistance Foundation — Uzbekistan has 
given the grant on creation of the club of the journalists of Samarkand, 
Gizak and Sirdarya regions.
Toshpulat Rahmatullaev is the author of five books including the 
book «Political party and democratic principles» (1999), «Press and 
Democracy»(2002) and «The flight of the thoughts»(2002).
