3.3. Observation Report

The main purpose of this very report is to be aware of teaching styles and methods and creativity of the teacher while conducting process is occurred. While observing my classmates lessons I have encountered some good ways of teaching pupils in an appropriate way. Furthermore, we tried to solve some negative parts of teaching process with the help of discussion.

Every conducted lessons which I observed was able to gain it’s main purpose. Both pupils and teacher got benefits from the process. Pupils did some extra activities to fortify the knowledge about the new topic and they participated to the lessons with full of interest towards the lesson. The lessons which I have observed conducted paying directly attention to the time management, classroom arrangement as well as discipline. The duration of the lessons controlled by the teacher according to the given standardized composition of the lesson. In order to teach the lessons much more understandable children were given some useful handouts which were suitable for the audio-visual, kinesthetic, auditory learners. The most interesting thing which I was really inspired is the usage of integrated skill which consists of listening, reading, writing, speaking, grammar and vocabulary skills as well. The lessons were fruitful, because they tried to develop pupils’ reading, speaking, listening skills and grammar, vocabulary as well.

In the other hand, there are also occurred some silly mistakes by teachers. Mostly teachers distributed all their attention to the achievement of the lesson, however it would be better if they also pay attention to the time management. Because, it would be minus to the development of the lesson. Another most important point is that during the team-based activities teachers lost the attention to the passive pupils, I personally think that we should work with them individually by paying attention to each pupils temperament. It would be more productive if the teachers also take into consideration the discipline of pupils and learn the psychology of them.

When all is said and done, I should consider that being a teacher is the most difficult and ever-respect -demanded work. Since it is not easy to teach even a to the mixed ability classes which differ from with their levels of knowledge. The data which is aforementioned above can be a good example of how being a teacher in today’s world where we live in.

Entry 4. Reflective Writing

4.1.Reflective Writing

In this piece of writing there is given the whole description of pedagogical practice which was lasted for about 48 days, including passive and active types along with my personal experience as an observer and teacher at the school № 1 which is located in the downtown area of Samarkand city. Being perfectly honest, I could not imagine that being a teacher is considered to be one of the most challenging works of ever. However, when I stepped to the school as a teacher I realized that it was hard-work-demanding job, since, teaching even a letter to the one is so difficult task, if they do not interest what you are teaching. While attending to the pedagogical practice I have piled up a great number of methods, skills, new usages of modern innovation technologies which can be used to the mixed ability classes in some cases. Especially, the thing that I really needed is the way of controlling pupils according to the discipline, gained here as well.

First and foremost, I would like to tell you about a brief about preparing process of to this practice. As we, the students of forth course considered as a PRESET students, we began learning how to teach pupils with using modern pedagogical technologies in theoretical point of view when we were at the third course under the subject of “Using educational technologies while teaching foreign languages”. However, it is indisputably fact that theory fulfills with the help of good practice, or in another way practice makes success. As I aforementioned before the practice was held on the base of two steps passive and active. In passive type we attended as observers and we learnt most of the teaching methods like how to address the main purpose of the topic to the pupils while observing high qualified teachers of school. Besides that I gained lots of information about how to make an ideal teacher’s portfolio. In these days I also took some notes in order to write about passive practice in specialized diary for practice students. Then I was given the 2thform pupils and I met with them they were very clever and knowledge-demanding children, I easily got along with them. In other day of passive practice I mostly paid my attention to observing the levels of knowledge, characters of each child and their behavioral attitudes with teacher and classmate of my class by taking back seat at the classroom. After finishing the passive practice, it should be pointed out that the most interesting as well as difficult part began. In the active practice all the students were given with the chance of teaching to their classes directly under the control of the supervisor and mentor. Like other students I also began to teach and encourage my pupils with using several interactive games according to the given topic. I used following references to teach them: “Fly High 2” workbook, “Grammar fun with games”, and some internet resources like “penguin”, “Fluent You” and other handouts and worksheets and others. As the matter of “The decree of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education" and the law of the implementation of the national training program for teaching foreign languages as part of a complex system that is harmonious, healthy, modern-minded young generation, the creation of the international community aimed at further integration of the system the English language classrooms are provided with all the facilities such as computers, speakers, projector, visual aids, course and workbooks and others, So that I tried to conduct the lessons on the base of four basic skills of English language simultaneously. This class was divided into two groups and in each group was provided two practice-students. For this reason, We conducted the lessons in terms with my partner. The day before of my lesson I informed children what kind of topic we would pass with them. By doing this I tried avoid of pupils not being ready to the lessons and not being aware of new words to the lesson. At the day of lesson I began to conduct the lessons according to the time management and composition of that, but the most importantly I tried to make children interest to the topic by playing some funny games like bingo, or by submitting colorful handouts, activities which covers all the levels of pupils’ knowledge. While dividing them into groups I paid attention to the equality of teams. While team-based activities I controlled the attendance of passive students. While explain the new topic I preferred to use of non-traditional method which makes pupils to think and give their own points about what kind of topic was about. By this way, I improved pupils’ confidence about their knowledge as well as their speech. During the lessons I also develop teacher-pupil interaction by helping them to show their abilities in the field of study. In the process of evaluating I assess children according to their attendance to the lessons, creativity, being ready to the home tasks and another some criteria. During each activity I gave colored stickers as a symbol of mark at the last of the lesson I marked them by paying attention to stickers quantity. I mostly conducted all my lesson according to this very criteria.

Furthermore, I also conducted my observation lesson on October 18 on the theme of Sports at school, revision. As I aforementioned before, I always tried to inform the children with the topic of our observation lesson and inquired them to be ready to the lesson. I conducted the observation lesson with all pupils of my class, and paid attention to the classroom management, equipment, time management, providing of books to every pupil, and wearing the uniform as well. As a matter of guest I invited supervisor Muzaffarova L. and mentor Umarova Madina and some of my group mates to my observation lesson. I passed the lesson with full of interest by the pupils and guests as well. On October 30 we passed the last day of our practice and I thanked all the teachers and pupils.

In conclusion, when all is said and done, it should be considered that being a good teacher demands years of experience. Without any reservation, I would say that I have learned plenty of things which are really beneficial for being a qualified teacher. And also I used my theoretical knowledge in practice and it gave me tons of inspiration. Afterwards, I was able to be aware of cons sight of my teaching styles by others feedbacks and I realized that I need to learn a lot of things in near future.
