Online article review : "7 Things not to Do when speaking English" The article "7 things not to do when speaking English" was written by Reallife team. The article was officially announced in www.reallifeglobal.com in April 23, 2012. The author tells us about 7 things we should avoid doing when we are speaking in English. She emphasizes that after talking to thousands of foreigners in English, she had noticed several things that they do that hurt their progress as a language learning; as a result, she wrote this article about a few of these things. The author states that in order to speak English fluently like a native speaker, first of all, learners do not be too ashamed to speak. Learners can make excuses for why they do not want to speak, like saying that they are too embarrassed to speak but this will not get them any closer to their goal of achieving English fluency. She also adds that people who are willing to achieve English fluency do not be afraid of making mistakes, as human beings make mistakes and they are not perfect at all. The third one is to not apologize for your level. The writer states an example by her own experience, when she is talking to somebody in English, something really annoys her is that they apologize for how much English they speak. According to the article, people should not get frustrated with themselves if they are unable to fully express themselves like they would be able to do in their native languages. Other two tips learners should follow are that they do not have to take it personally when others do not understand them and they do not compare themselves to other English speakers. These two things might be the biggest obstacles to achieve fluency if they do not take actions to get rid of some. However, what I like the most is the last one: "do not get arrogant if you are fluent or just think you are". This is for the reason that there is never really perfect fluency, only the impassioned and ever-approaching journey toward it. The paragraphs in this article are very well-developed and included all precious information that will come in handy for both teachers and students. The article shows that the author has efficient knowledge and experience in developing English fluency of students. To conclude, after reading this article, the readers realize that things that seem minor to them may be a determining factor to achieve fluency in a foreign language.
