Whom, whose, what, as soon as, as,
that’s why, therefore. 
 
whom 
• The woman whom you saw there wass a judge. 
• I met a woman whom I know. 
• The minister, to whom I spoke recently, agrees. 
We can also use whom with prepositions (to / from / with whom etc.): 
• The girl with whom he fell in love left him after a few weeks. (he 
fell in love with her) 
 
But we do not often use whom. In spoken English we normally prefer 
who or that (or you can leave them out): 
• The woman (who/that) you saw … 
• The girl (who/that) he fell in love …
 
whose 
Use whose instead of his / her / their: 
We saw some people. Their car had broken down. 
We saw some people whose car had broken down. 
• My friend whose wife works at our Academy is an investigator. 
 
what 
• She told me what to do. 
• I know what you mean. 
• I don't know what it is. 
• I don't know what he said.

as (= because) 
• As he knows law well, he is a good judge.

• I don’t know much about China, therefore I can’t advise you
