Here F is the area of ​​the filtering surface, m2;  is the thickness of the bicarbonate sediment layer in the filter, m;  - sediment density in the filter, kg/m3;  – compression coefficient; n – drum rotation speed min–1;  is the coefficient of soda release from bicarbonate;  is the coefficient for standard soda (0.992).
Removal of sediment from the field in one revolution of the drum:
F= DL = 3.14 · 1.8 · 0.98 = 5.55 m2.
The coefficient of compression of sediments is calculated based on the total thickness of the sediment layer and the thickness of the layer remaining in the fabric after cutting:
