Qo’llanilishi:
1. O’tgan zamonda ma’lum bir paytda davom etgan ish-harakatni ifodalaydi.

Signal so’zlar: at 5 o’clock

At that moment

Then

At noon

At midnight
e.g I was doing my homework at 6 o’clock.

He wasn’t sleeping at midnight.
2. O’tgan zamonda ma’lum bir davr oralig’ida davom etgan ish-harakat.
e.g. We were building a new house during the summer.

In June they were preparing for the competition.
3. Bitta ish-harakat davom etayotganda ikkinchisi sodir bo’lgan bo’lsa.

Past Continuous +when + Past Simple

e.g. I was watching TV when my brother came.

Past Simple +when + Past Continuous

e.g. My brother came when I was watching TV.
4. Ikkita parallel davom etgan ish-harakatlar.

While+ Past Continuous+ Past Continuous

e.g. While my mother was cooking dinner I was reading a book.
