Professional Development for English Language Teachers (PDELT) Monday 10th July to Friday 4th August 2023 The Professional Development for English Language Teachers program is designed for English language teachers working in global educational institutions. The Professional Development for English Language Teachers course is delivered over four weeks in the Summer at the University of Warwick campus and consists of 2 streams: English Language Teachers (ELT)/lecturers at secondary and tertiary institutions English for Academic Purposes (EAP)/English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) teachers at tertiary institutions Program Aims The Professional Development for English Language Teachers (PDELT) program will include approximately 120 contact hours. It will include 2 main components (Language Development and Developing Skills for Teaching English). The balance between the 2 main components will be set according to where participants' greatest developmental needs are. Key aims of the course. To develop teachers' knowledge of language teaching methodologies, along with the confidence and skills to apply them effectively in the classroom To improve teachers' competence and confidence in using English in a fully immersive learning environment, both inside and outside of the classroom To increase teachers' ability to select and develop teaching materials that are relevant, engaging and authentic, and to familiarize them with a wide range of technological tools designed to enhance their own learning and future teaching practice To promote teachers' ability to support their own professional development, and encourage teachers to become reflective practitioners To provide an opportunity for teachers to engage in peer observation and observed micro-teaching practice, and to receive constructive, critical feedback To nurture creativity and pedagogical diversity in support of learning For further information on the course and a list of modules, please visit our website: https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/al/study/short-courses/pdelt/ Program Fee The fees quoted below are contingent on Chirchik state pedagogical university sending a minimum of 5 teachers to the Summer 2023 Professional Development for English Language Teachers program. The fees are based on a PDELT course as outlined above and as detailed out at https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/al/study/short-courses/pdelt/ . 4-week PDELT program ( assuming minimum 5 participants in the group ) Total fee for group of 5 Total: 14,825 Per person: 2,965 The program fee includes: delivery of the program as outlined in the proposal above. Student accommodation either on or off campus, including a private bedroom with Wi-Fi. a welcome lunch on the first day and a farewell lunch on the final day of the program with faculty staff at the University conference suite. 2 day (London and Oxford) and 3 half day (Warwick, Stratford and others to be decided) cultural trips as detailed out in the above proposal University registration which gives access to the library and IT facilities. Warwick certificate of completion and group photograph. Bus passes to facilitate travel to and from the University and in the local area. airport collection on arrival (accompanied) and drop-off at the end of the program . The program fee does not include: the cost of flights the cost of travel/health insurance for participants. visa costs. Important to note: Student visas may be required to study in the UK, but this will depend on the country of origin. Visas are the participants' responsibility to organize. The University of Warwick can prepare invitation letters which can be sent, following receipt of payment, to participants prior to applying for a visa.
