STUDY OF THE LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE IN SEASONAL FLU VACCINATION
AMONG STUDENTS OF THE ALTAI STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Abstract. At the background of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Russia is also gripped by a seasonal outbreak
of respiratory diseases. Annual routine vaccination is the most effective way to prevent severe flu complications.
The results of the vaccination evaluation in the period 2018-2019 showed that flu shots reduced the risk of devel-
oping a severe form of the disease by 50%, and the results of vaccination in children were even more effective. The
world Health Organization annually updates the composition of influenza vaccines based on information provided
by the global system for influenza surveillance and response (GSEO), a partner network of national influenza cen-
ters (141 in total) in 111 countries, 6 who collaborating centers, and 4 leading who reference laboratories. The who
GSEG collects and analyzes influenza virus samples on an ongoing basis around the world. Each year, one (or more)
component of the vaccine intended for the upcoming flu season in the Northern or southern hemisphere can be
changed to take into account the most frequently detected and recently circulating influenza viruses of types A and
B. Flu vaccines are absolutely safe and are considered the main way to prevent flu infection.
