The weather forecast for the next century in England is not very good. Winters will have heavy rain 
leading to frequent flooding, gales will cause damage to trees and buildings and storms and high tides 
will threaten the coast. Summers will be drier with frequent droughts, particularly in the south and 
east of England, with many more days over 25 C -  when cities become uncomfortably hot, having 
negative effects  upon people's work performance. Events like Easter's floods in the Midlands, 
described in the official report as happening once in 100 years, will occur at least every 10 years, as 
will other extreme weather events.
