2-3. Territory and Population of the country

Japan is an island nation located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of East Asia. It is made up of four main islands: Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku. Additionally, there are over 6,800 smaller islands that make up the Japanese archipelago. Japan has a total land area of 377,944 square kilometers and a total coastline of 29,751 kilometers.


Japan has a population of 126 million people, making it the tenth most populous country in the world. The majority of the population is concentrated in urban areas, with Tokyo being the most populous city. The population is aging rapidly due to a low birth rate and a long life expectancy. Additionally, Japan has one of the lowest immigration rates in the world.


4. Climate of the country
Japan has a diverse climate due to its elongated shape and location in the North Pacific. In general, the climate ranges from subarctic in the north to subtropical in the south. Here are some of the key features of Japan's climate:
1) Winter: Winter in Japan can be quite cold, especially in the northern regions where snowfall is common. The temperature ranges from freezing to below freezing, and heavy snowfall occurs in some areas.
2) Spring: Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons in Japan, with cherry blossoms blooming across the country. The weather is mild, and temperatures range from 8°C to 18°C.
3) Summer:
Summer in Japan can be hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 33°C. Monsoon rains are common in some areas, and typhoons can occur from August to September.
4) Autumn:
Autumn is another beautiful season in Japan, known for its colorful foliage. The weather is mild, and temperatures range from 8°C to 20°C.
5) Tsunami:
Japan is also prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, which can occur at any time of year.
Overall, Japan's climate is highly variable depending on the region and time of year, so travelers should check the weather forecasts before visiting and pack accordingly.
