Feature Description Task (activity) log The following are distinguished: 1. Product Backlog (a set of all activities into which the project was divided, the implementation of which will lead to the achievement of a goal) 2. Shows the workload of individual departments in the project team. 3. Shows information about activity limits of individual activities. as well as the status of work on individual activities. Visualization of work Helped by: 1. A board. 2. It allows to quickly determine the status of the project, facilitates the work of team members, and also integrates them. Kanban Team Team: 1. Defines its maximum capabilities. 2. Cooperates with each other and can solve problems together. 3. Decides about processes modifications during their performance. Process objective The expected outcome of the process is the handover of the finished process. WIP (Work-In-Progress) limits The WIP Limits rule assumes that: 1. Each department has its own maximum "capacity", that is, the maximum number of activities that it can handle 2. After some space “becomes available” in the department, another task can be accepted. 3. The time devoted to activities is not specified. This means that the team must be disciplined (to prevent artificial prolonging of the entire project duration) Priority line Priority line introduced: 1. In the event of an unplanned activity which is necessary for urgent processing, in order to maintain the process balance. 2. To create a separate "channel" on the board, where the task moves from department to department outside specified limits. Source: own study after: M. A characteristic feature of this method is the practical liquidation of pre-production (the entire stock is at a workstation), intermediate, and finished products warehouses. Materials and semi-finished products are delivered from suppliers with an hourly accuracy. In turn, with the production capacity reserves and the production process flexibility, it is possible to produce almost any item at any time.
