The first railway in Spain opened on 28th October, 1848 
between Barcelona and Mataro. It surprises many travellers to 
learn that Spain now has Europe's most extensive high-speed 
rail network, with over 2500 km in service and many more 
under construction.

Railway Museum. The highest speed trains in Spain are called 
Ave - Alta Velocidad Española. The line from Madrid to Seville 
traveled about 186 miles per hour.
In 2014, China opened a 
new railway line called "New Silk Road". Today it is the longest 
route in the world. In this direction, the train goes from the 
Chinese city of Yu to the Spanish capital, Madrid. The total 
length of this route is 13,052 kilometers.
