Motivation letter
Statement of Purpose I was born in the family of engineers. My grandfather was a mechanical engineer in the town. Currently, my father is Professor in Thermal Power Engineering and Nuclear Power Plants. Since my childhood, my family has been motivating me to move forward and to find the right path in life, especially my father. I always dream of being like my father. These factors have made me reach more academic achievements and do the best for the improvement of my society. I mastered the following subjects with high interest: CAD/CAM/CAE, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Environmental Sciences, Energy Economics and Policy, Combined Cycle Power Plants and Energy Efficiency. Since August of 2019, I am working in project “Development of complex scientific and technical solutions to diversify the fuel balance for the medium and long term of the energy sector of Uzbekistan”. This project helped me to understand the issues in energy sector in Uzbekistan and what could be solutions for them. Further, in 2019 I joined another project which was funded by the Ministry of Education and Research of Germany and Ministry of Innovation of Uzbekistan. Germany-Uzbekistan joint project “Improving the efficiency of combined-cycle thermal power plants using solar energy in Uzbekistan” (SOLCCGT). This project is organized by the initiatives of professors of Duisburg-Essen University (Germany) and Tashkent State Technical University (Uzbekistan). These projects gave me an invaluable opportunity to get closer to the world of research. I believe that the experience gained in these two projects will play a key role in reaching new milestones in my future. Besides studies, I am focused on scientific publications and articles too. Since 2019, I have published 4 articles and 2 data reports for REN21. I do believe that scientific research is the fundamental key to practical success. Activity in academic and social life very quickly began to show its achievements. In June of the 2019 year, I was awarded “The Nippon Foundation Japan Central Asia Friendship Association Scholarship Program” which was organized by “The Nippon Foundation” (Japan). The scholarship was given to the only 5 students of Uzbekistan. In July of 2020, I was awarded with scholarship and chosen for “Young Professionals Internship Program” which was organized by American Councils for International Education. However, these are not the peak of my awards. As I am active person in life, I do love sport. Especially, football, table tennis, swimming and running. Sport helps me to be balanced in life while having mass of mental labor. Currently, my country is producing 60 billion kW/hour energy and only 15% of it is taken from renewable resources. However, Uzbekistan is planning to set up 9 PV solar stations till 2030, with capacity of 100 MW each. In 2030, energy producing reaches to 120 billion kW/hour and renewable is expected to be 25% of whole. My main question will be: what issues should be tackled in order to provide a decentralized energy system which allows sustainable energy in Uzbekistan? Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan is facing lack of qualified staff and digitization of system. Hopefully after my Master’s degree I will be working in the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
