Can everyday routine activities help people improve their health and avoid seeing a doctor?

No one can refuse The fact that. The best prevention for all diseases is just good everyday routine. The article the “ Importance of Creating Habits and Routine “ by Katherine R. Artinghaus , MS,RD , and Craig A . Johnston , PhD Gave links between adherence behaviours and family routines and researchers about how long time is enough for turn good habits into reality. Besides, other to articles: “ Lifestyle medicine: The Health Promoting Power of Daily habits and practises” by James M Rippe MD and “ 10 tips for Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle and Body Weight “ by Yiqing Song, Professor of Epidemiology, Department of epidemiology, Fairbanks School of Public Health deals with the bright ways of gaining subtle art of routine and gave tips to maintain the balance between private life and work. Furthermore, these two articles have information about stress, anxiety, depression, and ways to get rid of them by having a perfect routine . Many important aspects of creating healthy habits and their undeniable profits for our life are beautifully given in these three articles.

There are always easy paths for being healthy and having good immune system. The only way to make sure that we are following the rules of daily routine which help us be in a good shape both physically and mentally.“ A healthy lifestyle includes habitual consumption of nutritious foods , regular physical activity , and consistent sleep” . ( Katherine R, p 142 , 2019 ) These three components build the bridge of our health. At the same time, they can easily prevent us from some mental illnesses such as stress, anxiety and depression. Moreover, good routine is a lifestyle medicine. “ According to the World Health Organisation, adherence refers to the extent to which a person is behaviour - taking medication following a diet and executing lifestyle changes corresponds with agreed recommendations from a health care provider” . ( Katherine R p 143, 2019 ) Similarly, in second article “ Lifestyle medicine is mentioned as a discipline of studying how daily habits and practises impact both on the prevention and treatment of disease, often in conjunction with pharmaceutical or surgical therapy to provide an important adjunct to overall health” . ( James M, p 500 , 2018 ) In both articles, it is obvious that the Issue is solved by lifestyle medicine( routine) . Not only short term health but also long term health can be as strong as we want if we know how to keep balance between our leisure time and career. Quality of life can be increased by healthy and positive lifestyle.

In contrast to two mentioned articles, the third one deals with problems like type 2 diabets, hypertension, heart attack and other health related problems come from bad habits and unhealthy routine. Many people think that we have to stop eating fast food and we have to eat only vegetables and fruits. However, it is not appropriate diet. Our diet ought to be mixture of meals with nutritious value. It should be in balance. Another advice is we can use stairs instead of elevator or we might go five or ten - minutes walk with our dog. It means that we do not have to go to the gym if we are really busy. ( Yiqing Song Professor, p 2 , 2020 ) Additionally , he gave information about vitamins which are really important for our body. “ To make sure you have sufficient levels of nutrients, taking a daily multivitamin supplement is a good idea, especially when you do not have a variety of vegetables and fruits at home. Many micronutrients are vital to your immune system, including vitamins A,B6, B12, C, D and E , as well as zinc, iron, copper selenium, and magnesium. However, there is currently NO available evidence that adding any supplements or “ miracle mineral Supplements “ to your diet will help protect you from the virus or increase recovery. In some cases, high doses of vitamins can be bad for your health” . ( Yiqing Song Professor, p 2 , 2020 )


Apart from these , Professor Yiqing song gave 10 tips for maintaining healthy lifestyle:
1. Measure and watch your weight.
2. Limit unhealthy foods and eat healthy meals.
3. Take multivitamin supplements.
4. Drink water and stay hydrated and limit sugared beverages.
5. Exercise regularly and be physically active.
6. Reduce sitting and screen time.
7. Get enough good sleep.
8. Go easy on alcohol and stay sober.
9. Find ways to manage your emotions.
10. Use an app to keep track of your movement, sleep, and heart rate.
( p 2 , 2020 ) Creating a routine around health is recommended in all three articles. For example, “ A routine can be defined as a repeated behaviour involving momentary time commitment task that requires little conscious thought “ . ( Katherine R , p 143, 2018 ) Furthermore, Katherina explained how to be associated with these habits in a short time . She described that it takes 18 - 254 days for us to have a habit to take forever., especially 66 days is the best solution for it. Katherine and her colleagues added that “ Too much change too fast “ is likely to end without positive results.
In conclusion, the way we establish our routine in a correct pattern can be the best solution for every health problem. The easy habits like drinking enough water, eating proper nutrition, doing regular exercise or walking , getting enough sleep of course, stress reduction are not difficult to follow and they can not only solve all the health related problems but also protect us from them.
