Figure 1 shows the water absorption when changing crosslinkers. The results indicate that this hydrogel is classified as a superabsorbent hydrogel as it absorbs more than 120 times its original weight. Higher water absorption is shown by CMC 0.2% citric acid as a crosslinking agent compared to 1.8%. Citric acid is used as a crosslinking agent. When the amount of crosslinking agent is increased, it is very clear that water consumption decreases, which is a common trend of superabsorbent hydrogels.



The water absorption of starch/CMC mixture hydrogels crosslinked with citric acid in various ratios was studied. The water absorption values of these hydrogels are shown in Figure 2. It is clear that a 50/50 ratio of starch and CMC gave maximum water absorption. All hydrogels have the characteristics of a supersorbent, since water absorption is very high.



На рисунок 2 показана термограмма ТГА гидрогеля крахмал/КМЦ. Образец показывает небольшую (-11.07%) потерю массы для первой стадии разложения и потерю массы (8.28%) для второй стадии. Разложение максимально при 350°C. Все летучие и легко разлагаемые органические материалы удаляются при этой температуре.
