Article 343. Requirements for pledge of goods as security for payment 
of customs duties 
The pledge of goods is made out by the pledge agreement between 
the customs authority and the pledger, who may be the payer or other 
person under the guarantee agreement. 
The pledge agreement must be concluded in writing and notarized. 
The pledger has the right to dispose of the subject of the pledge in 
accordance with the pledge agreement. 
The pledge agreement is concluded in accordance with the procedure 
established by law. 
Article 344. Application of the Bank’s guarantee as security for 
customs payments 
The guarantee of a Bank that has the right to conduct banking 
operations in the Republic of Uzbekistan can be used as security for 
payment of customs payments. 
The amount of security for customs payments specified in the Bank’s 
guarantee must not be less than the amount of customs payments and 
interest payable. 
If the payer fails to fulfill the obligation secured by the Bank’s 
guarantee, the amount of customs payments and interest payable shall be 
collected by the customs authority from the Bank that issued the guarantee 
in an undisputed manner in accordance with the law. 
Article 345. Application of the insurance obligation as security for 
payment of customs payments 
An insurance policy may be used as security for the payment of

customs payments, confirming the entry into force of the insurer's 
obligations under the payer's civil liability insurance contract. 
The amount of security for customs payments confirmed by the 
insurance policy must not be less than the amount of customs payments 
and interest payable. 
If the payer fails to fulfill the obligation secured by the insurance 
policy, the amount of customs payments and interest payable shall be 
collected by the customs authority from the insurer that issued the 
insurance policy in an undisputed manner in accordance with the law.
