Uzbek craftsmen of fine arts have always 
been famous for their talent, which is 
shown in decoration of beautiful palaces, 
mausoleums and other religious buildings. 
Islamic traditions of the 9th century did not 
allow drawing people and animals. (1) ... 
Later a new direction of fine arts appeared 
in Uzbekistan. The local school of Uzbek 
lacquer miniature was formed in the 15th 
century, at the time of the Temurids. In the 
19th century the secret of its traditional ar­
