Warmer:
Stage 1) T put students into groups of 3 and tells them that they are going to a picnic and should discuss and agree on 4 things they can take with them in the following categories. T gives each category a couple of minutes:
• Things that start with the letter "W"
• Items that don't create litter (so no packaging/flakes/leftovers)
• Things that make pleasant sounds

Presetation:
Stage 1) Song lyrics picture
T explain the task (task to fill in the missing words in the song while listening)

Stage 1) Check correct
answers
T asks and corrects

filled in the gaps

Stage 1) Worksheet 1, activity 1
Ss try to memorize a new vocabulary based on the song (the task is to match the words with their meanings)

T invites Ss to beat the song and asks some leading questions:

  1. How do you think, with what feelings did the author write this song?




  1. Is this a real or fictional story?




  1. What are your impressions about this story?

Practise:
Stage 1) Worsheet 2, activity 2,3
T explains task: rewrite the sentences with can, may, must or have to.(task 2)
Stage 1.1) Ss modify the sentences using the correct modal verb (Ss can work in pairs)
Example:
Is that all right if I borrow your pen?
May/Can I borrow your pen?


T monitors
Stage 1.2) Ss look at their answers
T monitors and corrects mistakes only if all students can’t find agreement,correct answer by themselves

Stage 2) T explains task: match suitable sentences. (task 3)


Stage 2.1) Ss match the sentences in pairs to form the correct sentence
T monitors
Stage 2.2) After a couple of minutes (enough for completing the task) for checking the task T asks to give it to another S. Another S checks it . Then each S reads one sentence.

-to get Ss to discover for themselves the meaning and usage of the different grammar forms
