Analysis of the data
Our investigation was spread over a period of one month. We followed the progress of study, recording pupils’ scores. Before the experiments, two separate pre-tests were given to the groups. In the first pre-test, the aim was to be sure that they did not already know the meaning of the new words to be presented to them. The second pre-test aimed at they knew the meanings of collocates which would be presented together with a new word. The immediate post-tests were given a day after the experiment and the delayed post-tests were given 10 days later. The immediate and delayed sets of post-tests were the same; however, the questions were in different order. Although during the presentation stage some of the students were absent, during the testing stage the number decreased.

3.2 Data Collection
In this part of the qualification paper, there will be given some information about how data collected and what specific events happened during the procedure of gathering the data. Moreover, information about the number of participants, how many of them were present during the study will be also given.
The number of participants were 29 (14 and 15) in both groups that include 12 males and 17 females. During the study, all pupils were present and actively participated. In order to find whether there are differences between the two experimental and control groups, comprehensive questions, multiple choice tests, gap-filling and matching tests were run, and participants’ mean scores were compared using descriptive statistics. In the pre-test, the difference between groups was 0,5 point. The scoring of multiple-choice tests was done by giving one point to each correct answer. Since there were 20 questions in each of the tests, the total score for each was 20.
The scoring of the immediate and the delayed definition-sentence tests was done by giving one point to each correct answer. Since there were 40 questions in each, total score was 40 for each of the tests. For all these tests, the means and the standard deviations of each group were calculated. Then, two groups were compared to see if there were differences among the groups. All gathered data were learned carefully and the results illustrated in the form of graphs, charts and tables.
