The bar chart illustrates the categories (food, housing, transportation, health care, clothing) to which the governmental funds were allocated. The bar chart illustrates the money allocated to different fields (food, housing, transportation, health care, and clothing) in different countries. Overall, what stands out from the graph is that while the USA, Canada and the UK allocated most of their funds towards housing, Japan dedicated almost the same amount of funding to food as well as housing. Looking at the details regarding housing, the US allocated over a quarter of the total funds towards housing while spending very little on clothing and health care, at around 5% and 7%, respectively. However, Canada’s share of expenditure for housing and transportations was almost the same, around 20%. Moreover, similar to the USA and Canada, the UK allocated vast majority of its funds towards housing, at 24%, around 10% more than transportation and 4% more than food. In terms of the money spent on food, the USA and Canada distributed almost the same amount to food, at around 15%. Furthermore, Japan dedicated around a quarter of the total funds towards food, at 24%. With regards to the UK and Japan, while neglecting health care and clothing allocating only a tenth of the total, the UK spent around half of its funds on housing, food, and transportation, at 24%, 20%, and 15%, respectively.
