GEN KANAI
Gen Kanai is Director of Asia Business Development for Mozilla, a California-based not-for-profit organization that develops, manages, and freely distributes the popular Mozilla Firefox web browser. Gen is also Director of Marketing for Mozilla Japan. Prior to joining Mozilla, he was on the team responsible for the launch of Technorati Japan, a weblog search engine. In 2003, he co-produced the First International Moblogging Conference, the first worldwide conference on the topic of mobile weblogs and personal publishing from mobile phones with over 150 attendees from England, Italy, the US, and Japan. Gen has also worked for Sony Marketing of Japan, Sony Electronics Inc., and Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc., on various Internet-related businesses in both the US and Japan. He is a fellow of the US-Japan Foundation’s “US-Japan Leadership Program.” He received a BA in
Geography from Dartmouth College in 1996. He is proud to be born and raised in New York City and currently resides in Tokyo.
SILMY KARIM
Silmy Karim is CEO of Silka Group, the company that he started in 1995. He is a lecturer at the University of Indonesia. He has published several articles on aspects of economic, entrepreneurship and public policy, and has participated as a speaker at over 100 seminars or talk shows. The President of the Republic of Indonesia appointed him through Presidential Decree as a member of the National Team of Indonesia Military Business Transformation. He has much experience in organization since he was in high school, and now he is the Vice Chairman of HIPMI (Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association), Vice Chairman of Public Policy Standing Committee at KADIN (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry), Secretary-General of Paramadina
Foundation (non-profit organization focusing on education), Secretary General of JCI (Junior Chambers International), and Chairman of the Alumni of Young National Tenacity Education (government education program where he was chosen as best graduate). In 2008, Silmy was a fellow of Forum East Asia-Latin America (FEALAC) Young Leader Program. He received his undergraduate degree in economics and Masters in public policy.
HILANI KERR
Hilani Kerr is a Director and Bank of America Merrill Lynch Regional Head of Client Services for Prime Brokerage. She is based in Hong Kong and leads the teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. As head of the regional client services team, Hilani oversees Prime Brokerage’s relationships with clients, typically hedge funds. Hilani spent eight years with Deutsche Bank’s Offshore Alternative Investments business, working in London, Channel Islands and Mauritius. At Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Hilani is also the regional leader for LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development) for Women, a network dedicated to promoting professional women’s development. She holds a Masters degree from Monash University in Australia.
ISHITA KHANNA
Ishita Khanna is the Founder and Director of a social enterprise called Ecosphere that works in the cold deserts of the Trans-Himalayas of India on developing sustainable livelihoods for rural communities with linkages to conservation of nature and culture. Her passion for the environment and mountains led her to found Ecosphere, in collaboration with the local community of Spiti. Ecosphere's initiatives in the region range from developing sustainable livelihoods, women's empowerment, climate change mitigation and adaptation, natural resource management, heritage conservation and policy advocacy. Ecosphere's objective is to develop Spiti as a model of sustainable development. Livelihoods and conservation are at the core of its philosophy on which have been built its entire endeavors. Ecosphere was recently awarded the Wild Asia Responsible Tourism Award and the
work institute and was recently selected as an Ashoka Fellow.

MARTAND KHOSLA
Martand Khosla set up the architectural studio Romi Khosla Design Studios in 2002. He has been actively engaged in designing architecture for the underprivileged and using alternate material technologies. His buildings have won acclaim with three world architecture awards - one for a hostel for families of destitute patients at a government hospital in New Delhi. His student cafeteria for Jamia Millia Islamia University has been featured in the Phaidon Atlas of World Architecture as one of the best buildings of the 21st Century. He is currently exploring eco-friendly technology for factory worker housing. Martand graduated from the Architectural Association in London.
SEAN SE YEON KIM
Sean Se Yeon Kim founded his own consulting company, LIAN Consulting Group in 2006. LIAN has provided various financial advisory services for many companies in Korea, especially mergers and acquisitions consulting for SMEs. Currently, he serves as CEO of a troubled company listed in the KOSDAQ market in order to rebuild it through reducing debt ratio and revising profitability of the company. His experience as a CEO (not as an advisor) is brightening his insight about business more. He worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Korea for eight years, where he managed many corporate restructuring projects and mergers & acquisitions deals there. Sean received a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Seoul National University and a Master of Science Degree from Drexel University in the United States.
ARIEF KOESOEMAWIRIA
Arief Koesoemawiria is a Founder and Director of Suar Intermuda, a renewable energy company in Indonesia. Suar Intermuda focuses in making practical and affordable renewable energy systems throughout Indonesia. The products include lighting, backup power, marine navigation, remote monitoring and irrigation systems. He started his career as a Registered Civil Engineer and Associate Environmental Engineer in the southwestern US on infrastructure and environmental projects for military and municipal clients. He is a former president of the Civil Engineering Honor Society Alumni Association, officer of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and member of the Infrastructure Security Partnership.
MOTOKI KORENAGA
Motoki Korenaga is a double career mover, a promising young officer in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and PhD, with strengths in practical business and engineering management knowledge, team work skills, and multicultural experiences. Motoki made "Innovation 25" – Japan's long-term strategy initiative for the creation of innovation to maintain global competitiveness with an eye on the year 2025, and now formulates a navigating roadmap in robotics and industrial machinery areas for R&D investment and business promotion in cooperation with industry, academia, and public institution.
FAISAL KARIM KUNDI
Faisal Karim Kundi was elected to the 13th National Assembly of Pakistan in the February 2008 general election on a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ticket. He was subsequently elected as the 17th Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. As a young, first-time elected MNA at the age of 33, Faisal also has the distinction of being the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan. He began his political career in 2003 and has served as the Divisional Coordinator of the PPP for Dera Ismail Khan. Faisal also has the distinction of defeating, with an overwhelming majority, the religious stalwart and head of his faction of the JUI, a religion-based political party, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, former opposition leader in the National Assembly. During his studies, Faisal has had the opportunity to receive his political grooming from and assist his party chairperson and twice-elected Prime Minister of Pakistan late Benazir Bhutto in London. As the Patron of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF), a multi-party group of MPs aged under 40 in the National Assembly of Pakistan, Faisal is not only working to build leadership and legislative skills in young MPs through a variety of leadership and capacity building initiatives, but also involves young MPs in undertakeinga campus drive across Pakistan against extremism and intolerance. Faisal graduated with LLB in 2002 from Thames Valley College, UK.

VIVIAN LAU
Vivian Lau is the CEO of Junior Achievement Hong Kong, an educational non-profit organization, and Hong Kong Petrochemical Co Ltd, a for-profit US$200 million turnover company. She has twenty years of international experience spanning the educational non-profit, petrochemical, leadership development, IT, airlines, advertising, online, and telecommunication industries. In 1999, she was elected one of 12 Internet Superstars of the Year by Advertising Age International. Vivian was the Chairman of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Interactive Advertising Bureau from 2001 to 2003, and the Founding Chairman of the Hong Kong 4A’s Interactive Committee. In 2006, she was selected by the International Women’s Forum as one of the 16 Leadership Foundation Fellows for its 2006- 2007 Global Program.
DAE HYUNG LEE
Lee Daehyung is the President of Hzone (Loft H, Salon H, Hybrid Nefspace, Studio H, Café gallery Dawha) and founding curator of the acclaimed Korean Eye Moon Generation at the Saatchi Gallery in London and Bluedot Asia 2008. His weekly writings for the Financial News have analyzed critical issues regarding the art market, museum strategy, art fund, public art, and culture policy. He is currently curating Gwanju Light Expo Korea,18 Masterpieces: Art+Golf, Korea Tomorrow: Architecture+Art+Design, KyoBo Art Award, and Media Art Station Project. His two-year study at the Curatorial Studies, GSAS, Columbia University gives him wider views and networks around the world.
DANNY LEVINSON
Danny Levinson is the Founder and CEO of BDL Media Ltd, a multi-million dollar digital direct marketing, publishing, and advertising business started in China five years ago. He has been working in China for over 11 years and at BDL Media, he helps run the company’s divisions, including CharityInChina.org – a service that links NGOs to companies and individuals who can provide necessary funding and volunteer hours; and ChinaCSR.com, a daily Chinese news website that covers corporate social responsibility in China. He is currently the Chairman of the I.T. Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. He has presented at various conferences and forums including Harvard China Review, Internet Society of China, Kenan-Flagler Business School, CEIBS, and Merrill Lynch Asia Rising Stars. Originally from the United States, he graduated from the College of William
and Mary in the US with a BA in English literature, and also studied both Japanese and Chinese, starting in high school.
SCARLETT LI
Scarlett Li is the Founder and CEO of Zebra Media, China's largest multi-media music platform, promoting music on Satellite channels, digital cable channels, concerts, internet and mobile networks. Zebra Media has partnership with two nationally covered TV channels in China, BTTV and MLTV. Zebra Media organizes more than 100 music events every year, these events ranging from 1,000 to 100,000 people. Moreover, Zebra Media is also in partnership with China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom to distribute and promote music on mobile networks. Prior to Zebra Media, Scarlett was the general manager of StarTV's Channel [V] – A News Corporation Company – where she launched the first ever Channel [V] Chinese Music Awards (CMA). Scarlett co-founded
fellow with the Aspen Institute and a NAL of the World Economic Forum. Scarlett obtained her bachelor degree in Australia, majoring in Information Technology and Business Management and her EMBA from Tsinghua University in Beijing.
MINA “TITI” LIU
Mina “Titi” Liu brings both international experience and a deep concern for Asian Pacific Islander community here in the United States to her work as the Executive Director of the Asian Law Caucus. She began her legal career as an associate in the China practice of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton and Garrison. She worked for seven years as the Law and Rights Program Officer in the Ford Foundation's Beijing office, supporting the development of nongovernmental organizations and leading two legal reform initiatives in China. She also funded organizations throughout Asia working on legal reform. Previous to joining the Caucus, she was the Garvey Schubert Barer Visiting Professor in Asian Law at the University of Washington School of Law. She has consulted for the US Department of State and USAID and has served on the board of Social Justice Fund Northwest. She is currently on the Steering Committee of the California Coalition for Civil Rights. She has published numerous articles on legal reform in China and lectured widely on the relationship between legal reform and social change. Titi is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

VIVIAN CLAIRE LIU
Vivian Claire Liu is the Founding Director of PhilanthropyWorks, Asia's first philanthropy advisory and execution boutique dedicated to advising foundations on honing their philanthropic strategies, executing the plans, and evaluating their impact. Vivian's burning passion for making a difference led her to world-class organizations across the private, public and non-profit spheres - Goldman Sachs Mergers & Acquisitions, The World Bank, Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) and UBS; these have coalesced to form the perfect skill set for executing a high- impact philanthropy service. Vivian is the first Asian elected to the global board of a major NGO, Nobel Peace Prize winner Medecins sans Frontieres (OC Belgium), for which she served as financial controller in Liberia. She was invited to join the Knights of Malta, and also chosen as one of ASEAN's next-
speaking engagements include the Harvard Social Enterprise Conference and Asian Family Business Forum. Vivian was chosen as The World Bank's first Junior Associate, building the model that quantified the true wage bill of the Government of Indonesia; this underpinned the Bank's approval for a multi-billion dollar adjustment loan to raise civil service pay. At Goldman Sachs, Vivian was picked for the M&A execution team of three for China Mobile's first strategic stake sale to Vodafone, and served as the lead analyst for the restructuring and exchange offer of Guangdong Enterprises. Vivian graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with two degrees (Wharton & College) in three years.
ROBIN LOON
Robin Loon is an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore. He obtained his PhD in Intercultural theatre and performance from Royal Holloway University of London. Robin is also an active participant in the Singapore theatre scene, both as practitioner and assessor for the National Arts Council. Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English, Robin hopes to merge the traditional and the modern, the east and the west through his creative and academic work. He has maintained close ties with Singapore's premier English-Language Theatre company, TheatreWorks, and his recent work for the company as a writer/dramaturg is a collaboration with its artistic director, Ong Keng Sen, on an intercultural production entitled, GEISHA, which has toured the USA, Europe and Asia. He has also recently been appointed the head of the TheatreWorks Writer’s Laboratory, a writer's
incubation program into its 16th year.
PARDIS MAHDAVI
Pardis Mahdavi is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Pomona College in California. She received her PhD at Columbia University in the departments of Socio-medical Sciences and Anthropology, focusing on gender and sexuality in the Middle East within a medical-anthropological context. Her research interests include sexuality, human rights, transnational feminism and public health in the context of changing global and political structures. Professor Mahdavi is also a consultant to the International Women's Health Coalition and the United Nations Fund for Population Advancement. She has published in the Encyclopedia of Women in Islamic Cultures; Culture, Health and
Passionate Uprisings: Iran's Sexual Revolution was published this fall with Stanford University Press.
SWETA MANGAL
Sweta Mangal is the Co-Founder & CEO of the "Dial 1298 for Ambulance" project. Today, 1298 Ambulance Service covers 50 million people across Mumbai, Kerala and Patna and has transported over 100,000 patients and victims since its launch. She has also started a school in Rajasthan to impart quality education. She has worked with top corporates in India including ZEE TV group, Tata AIG Life Insurance, and Marico Industries. Sweta received her MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, and is a Chevening Sr. Gurukul Scholar in Leadership and Excellence from the London School of Economics.
AARON MANIAM
Aaron Maniam is currently Deputy Director at the Strategic Policy Office of the Public Service Division, where he leads a team that analyses long-term inter-agency issues. From May 2006 to January 2008, he served as First Secretary at Singapore's Embassy to Washington, DC. In his community work, Aaron has served as a resource person for Singapore's National Youth Council and a Member of the Executive Committee of Mendaki Club, a group of young Muslim professionals in Singapore. He was Director for Fundraising and Special Services with the Washington DC chapter of the Hugh O' Brian Youth Foundation, a 501(c)(3) youth leadership body. As Vice President (2003-2005) and President (2005-July 2006) of the Debate Association (Singapore), Aaron was

schools. He will be one of the Chief Adjudicators at the 2008 World Schools Debating Championship, to be held in Washington, DC. Aaron won the First Prize for English Poetry in the 2003 National Arts Council-Singapore Press Holdings Golden Point Award. His first collection of poems, Morning at Memory's Border, was shortlisted for the biennial Singapore Literature Prize in 2007. He graduated from Oxford and Yale on a Singapore Public Service Commission scholarship.
SYED NASIM MANZUR
Syed Nasim Manzur is a managing director of Apex Footwear Ltd, the first export-oriented leather shoe factory in Bangladesh and second largest footwear retailer in that country. Apex is an Italian joint venture and the largest footwear exporter with 2008 revenues of over US$81million and more than 5000 employees. He also serves as Director of Apex Tannery Ltd, the largest tannery in Bangladesh. Syed helped set up Grey Dhaka, the first joint venture advertising agency in Bangladesh and now a WPP company, and Quantum Market Research BD Ltd, the leader in qualitative market research and now serves as managing director for both. He led the acquisition of a pharmaceutical plant that is now Apex Pharma and will be commissioning its new GMP Plant in August. Syed is
currently the Vice President of Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the oldest business chamber in Bangladesh, and a director of Pioneer Insurance Ltd the fifth largest insurer in the country. He is a trustee for the Society for Promotion of Bangladesh Art, a member of the SuperBrands Advisory Council, and is also associated with a mass literacy program called Ganoshikhya Andolon. He is also enjoying his stint as guest faculty teaching international business in the BBA program at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University, the premier business school in Bangladesh. Syed completed his BS Economics in entrepreneurial management from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1990.
