The chart shows the main methods of transportation for people traveling to a university for work or study in 2004 and 2009. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and making comparisons wherever relevant.
The chats give information about the five different ways of transportation which is people can go to a university for work or study in the UK in the years 2004 and 2009.
Overall, in 2004, traveling by car was by far the most common way to go to a university but there was a dramatic increase in the percentage of traveling by bus over the following five years. While the proportion of the other three methods had a negligible percent in each year.
In 2004, the most common way to travel to a university was by car at around 50%. Moreover, there was also approximately 35% in the transportation by bus. The proportion of bus method rose dramatically to a peak of 46% between 2004 and 2009. Whereas, the figure for car version to go a university sharply increased by at around 20%.
The other three ways to reach university were to travel by train, by bicycle, and on foot. In 2004, these ways had only 3, 9 and 4 percent respectively. But, during the period, the figure for the bicycle method was almost doubled. There were approximately no changing in the sections of train and walking.
