1. During 15 years of independence deep structural and substantial reforms and transformations in the system of higher education has taken place in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Main purpose of these reforms were to provide the adequate place of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the world community. Indeed, it was impossible to provide the independent economy, social an political stability, development of intellectual and spiritual potential of the nation without rebuilding the system of education and upbringing. The first President of Independent Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, understanding this reality from the first days of independence, stated the necessity of deep reforms in the system of education and upbringing of new generation. The state policy in the field of education that could transform it into the priority sphere has been developed and conducted.
2. Many young Uzbeks strive to master the English language. At many universities across the capital, Tashkent, many Uzbek students enroll in English language courses. For many, the English language is a break from the past and represents a new future. For young men, English language is
a natural step in their business endeavors. As one male student mentioned, “The English language will help me establish strong business connections and make my business wealthier.” For many female students I spoke with they view the English language as a way to gain a professional career in translation or further their higher education pursuits.
3. Uzbekistan is a country in whose territory development of science and culture has begun since ancient times. In particular, there were widely developed such science as astronomy, mathematics, medicine, chemistry, history, philosophy, linguistics, literature, and crafts - art of sculpture, weaving, pottery, glass making, etc. At present, scientists of Uzbekistan's are actively exploring scientific heritage left by ancient scholars, enrich science with their new discoveries, making a significant contribution to world science.
scientific and cultural centers of the East, where first scientific researchinstitutions were established as well as institutions and scientific communities in the similitude of modern academies.In the 11th century, Urgench, the capital of Khorezm, was a well-furnished city with high culture. Horezmshah Abul Abbas ibn Ma’mun being a ruler having a keen interest in culture and science, in every possible way supported scientists, poets, musicians, calligraphers, architects and artists.
