The line graph illustrates how much carbon dioxide emissions for per person in 4 different countries over a 40-year period starting from 1967. Units are measured in metric tones.
Overall, the research demonstrates a general increase in the amount of CO2 emissions in Italy and Portugal, while in the UK and Sweden domains a decrease over the time frame. It is also clear that in Portugal amount of average carbon dioxide emissions accounted for the least quantity in comparison to others.
In the UK, in 1967, carbon dioxide emissions were the highest (11 metric tones) for every person, which was 2 metric tones higher than Sweden. Despite falling considerably by 2 metric tones, the British people's carbon dioxide emissions remained the highest on average at the end of the period.
Conversely, Italy and Portugal experienced a gradual rise to about 8 and 6 metric tones. Interestingly, although there was the least amount of carbon dioxide emissions in Portugal at starting point, by the end of the period it had equalled with Sweden.
