The theme of the lesson: Lesson 2. What’s the matter?
The aim of the lesson:
Educational: giving information about theme What’s the matter?, generalizing the
knowledge of the pupils on new theme, enlarging the vocabulary of the pupils.
Developing: improving pupils’ writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills.
Bringing up: bringing up all pupils in the spirit of loving English language.
The type of the lesson: oral and written.
The method of the lesson: reproductive.
Expected results: a) to increase pupils’ vocabulary, oral speech.
b) to learn to make up sentences using “I’ve got …”
c) to talk each other about theme.
d) to increase pupils’ interest to English
Equipments: 7th form “Fly High”, computer, map, pictures, handouts, cards, blackboard, a piece of chalk.
The beginning of the lesson:
I. Organizing moment:
a) Greeting.
b) Duty’s report.
II. Checking up homework:
What was your homework for today?
Who is ready the answering them?
III. The presentation of the lesson:
Learning new words:
headache – bosh og’rig’i cold/cough – shamollash/yo’tal
high temperature – harorat sore throat – tomoq og’rig’i
runny nose – tumov toothache – tish og’rig’i
earache – quloq og’rig’i stomachache – oshqozon og’rig’i
flu – gripp backache – bel og’rig’i
Task 1. ex.2 Play Miming.
e.g. P: (mimes)
Class: Have you got a headache?
P: Yes, I have. No, I haven’t.
Task 2. ex. 3. Work in pairs. Play What’s the matter?
e.g. A: (mimes a cough)
B: What’s the matter with you?
A: I’ve got a cough.
B: Oh, poor you. Get well soon.
Task 3. ex.4a Read the texts about British home remedies. Copy the table and
complete.
Sometimes I get a headache. When this happens my mum makes tea from flowers for me. And she message my head. Usually my headache goes quickly.
