The table depicts the differents in two types compositions of households in a North America country in two separated years: 1970 and 2003.

Overall, in both total family and non-family households had a slightly increase while married couple (with or without child/children) in the family households had a significantly decrease.

It is clearly seen,family households separated into four types total households (married couple (with or without child/children), father and mother with child/children and other members sharing).Although married couple (with or without child/children) dropped from 67% to 47%, it remained with the highest percentage of all other types of households in family household. In father and mother child\children households increased the same percentage with 2% (from 1% to 3% and 5% to 7% respectively). Other family members sharing household also increased from 8% to 11% over times.

As for non-family households separated into two types households (single-person and non-family sharing). In the composition of single-person household had more percent with 17% than non-family sharing with 2% and in both households increased significantly (26% and 6% respectively)
