A.N. Tkachenko, M.A. Khomenok, S.N. Shlapakova. MORPHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF
AESCULUS HIPPOCASTANUM L. IN URBAN CONDITIONS OF BRYANSK REGION.
At present, the morphological features and mold diversity of Aesculus hippocastanum L. have not been
adequately studied in regard to the species growth conditions, on the basis of which it is possible to formulate
recommendations for introducing the species into the landscape of settlements in the Bryansk region. Registration
sites with Aesculus Hippocastanum L. were located in Bryansk and in the cities of the Bryansk region
(Novozybkov, Karachev, Zhukovka). The conducted studies given the analysis of the morphological features of
Aesculus Hippocastanum L. seeds and inflorescences depending on the environmental impact in the conditions of
the cities in the Bryansk region. Variations in the ornamental features of Aesculus Hippocastanum L. inflorescences
indicate the significant excess in length and their splendour (the number of flowers in the inflorescence) in all areas
of Bryansk, which is opposite to the cities of the Bryansk region, where there is a significant decline that indicates
the human impact on woody plants. The largest Aesculus Hippocastanum L. seeds in diameter and weight should be
noted in registration site - 2 in Novozybkov, Karachev and Zhukovka - in plantations less exposed to atmospheric
pollution. Analysis of the study results makes it possible to conclude on the possibility of selecting valuable
Aesculus Hippocastanum L. forms and to develop theoretically reasoned practical recommendations on the
introduction of this species as the most adapted planting material to the urban conditions of the Bryansk region,
allowing to improve the state of existing green plantations in the region, to increase their decorative effect and
resistance to the human impact.
