THE ACADEMIC LIFE IN AMERICAN UNIVERSITIES 
 
The terms "college" and "university" are often used interchangeably in the United 
States. Typically, colleges offer a four-year program of study leading to a bachelor's 
degree. Universities have a strong focus on research and often include vocational 
schools, colleges of elementary education in the arts and sciences. Both colleges and 
universities can be public or private. The academic year in American universities 
usually lasts 9 months - from the end of August or September to May or June. 
The main form of training sessions is a lecture, which is given to streams, sometimes 
numbering up to a thousand students. Diploma courses are a 4-year cycle of 
disciplines, based on the results of which an academic bachelor's degree is awarded. 
To obtain a bachelor's degree, students must earn a certain number of credits and 
pass the required examinations. A master's degree in the United States focuses on 
specialized activities (music, business management, engineering, pedagogy, etc.).

HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM IN MY HOME COUNTRY 
UZBEKISTAN. 
 
In comparison, the education system of Uzbekistan is not in the highest level, 
but it is developing year by year. There are a lot of years for having such developed 
education system as the USA. But our studying system also have some beneficial 
sites, which would be discussed in this essay. 
There are currently 114 universities operating in Uzbekistan, of which 93 are 
domestic and 21 are foreign universities and their branches. 
As in other countries, higher education in Uzbekistan includes the training of 
qualified professionals in various fields of public life and economic sectors such as 
science, economics and technology. The educational process encourages students to 
systematize knowledge and acquired skills and to creatively use the fruits of modern 
scientific thinking and technology to solve theoretical and practical problems in the 
vector of their chosen discipline. lead to
