What are the advantages and disadvantages for the child of having a large number of toys?

Children need to have entertaining activities to fulfill their spare time. Therefore, their parents often provide them with a wide cluster of electronic gadgets or dolls to play with. In my view, this practice can produce several positive outcomes, as well as problems for children involved.

The benefits for children who are given a plenty of toys are clear. First, they might have different options to choose in this case, which can allow them to avoid getting bored. As a result, they are more likely to live a care-free and enjoyable childhood. Along with this, while playing with a broad range of toys and creating various stories on their own, children can learn several real-life skills, such as problem solving and organization. This, in turn, will be of immense help to their future careers. Probably, because of these reasons, parents usually purchase lots of toys for their children.

Nevertheless, having a lot of different toys may cause some negative repercussions. Since most of the modern toys like video games and board games are designed for indoors, kids have to spend a great deal of time sitting at home. In effect, this can certainly lead to less physical activity, thereby gaining extra weight. Furthermore, kids who have a huge number of toys tend to underestimate what they have. In other words, when they are provided with a lot of things, it is highly unlikely for them to value their belongings and to have gratitude. Clearly, although parents are striving to obey their children's will to play, this approach might cause deep regret.

In summary, there are tangible advantages to giving children innumerous toys. Nonetheless, If parents really wish to help their kids, they should keep in mind the potential disadvantages too, I think.
