INTRODUCTION (Annotation to PhD thesis) 
 
Research objective is developing proposals to improve the provision of higher 
education with high potential personnel by ensuring the selection and professional 
success of students with developed mental abilities. 
Research object is students' mental abilities as the basis of their successful 
professional activities, the study involved 3190 people from among student youth 
who studied at Ferghana State University in the 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019 
academic years.
Research subject is students' mental abilities, factors, conditions and 
mechanisms that serve to ensure their educational and professional success. 
Scientific novelty of research is as follows: 
Formation of analytical thinking has been proven by giving priority to practical 
and intellectual feelings in the development of verbal and non-verbal intelligence as a 
result of the influence of the selection of talented students in determining the status of 
intellectual leadership in the group; 
Gender nature of the development of mental abilities in the student period has 
been proven due to the priority formation in the motivational sphere of personality in 
women of verbal intellectual activity, in men – projective thinking; 
Direct proportionality of the development in a high degree of mental abilities 
of students with the priority formation of a secondary signal system due to the 
integrative manifestation of sociability, activity, analytical thinking, normative 
anxiety has been proven; 
Integrative influence of expression of the degree of focus on scientific activity 
on the development of verbal intelligence in capable students has been proven due to 
the manifestation of a harmonious combination of the creative component of 
divergent thinking with independent, creative, critical thinking.
