The subject of my course paper is Family and early life of Oscar Wilde The object of my course paper is Oscar Wilde’s novel “The picture of Dorian Gray” The course paper includes introduction, 4 chapters, conclusion and list of references. The main part includes facts and precious data related to author’s life and career. Furthermore, I try to cover his short stories , plays, and poems that continue to inspire millions around the world .And main part provides an analysis of Wilde’s first and last completed novel “The picture of Dorian Gray” which is also a flawed comedy following a young and fascinating socialist who trades his soul for eternal youth and beauty. MAIN PART 1. Life and creative work of Oscar Wilde As any individual who has visited Ireland will be aware , Irish people are intensely proud of their rich literary heritage. James , Joyce W.B. Yeats and an immense assortment of different writers, playwrights and artists set a very exclusive requirement for the advanced time. One of them anyway was a little more off-center than the rest . Whenever others were utilizing their work to urge political discussions or to explore different avenues regarding progressive new abstract types , a gregarious man by the name of Oscar Wilde was making waves for his thorny, hilarious and consistently pin-point precise social critique in his books, brief tales and plays. As well as that, he had seemingly one of the most fierce private lives of the lot. Below, there is a brief glimpse into the life and work of Oscar Wilde. Rich portrayals of human condition by Oscar Wilde were created during the Victorian Era, which swept through London in the late nineteenth century. Wilde wrote several short stories, plays, poems that continue to inspire millions around the world at a time when all citizens of Britain were finally able to embrace literature that the wealthy and educated could only once afford. By the age of 28, Oscar's father, William Wilde, had graduated as a doctor, completed a voyage to Madeira, Tenerife, North Africa, and the Middle East, studied at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, written two books, and been appointed medical advisor to the Irish Census of 1841. When the medical statistics were published two years later, they contained data that had not been collected in any other country at the time, and as a result, William was appointed Assistant Commissioner to the 1851 Census. He held the same position for the two subsequent Censuses, for which he was knighted in 1864.
