LESSON PLAN

(according to the pre,while,post stage activities of vocabulary teaching methods in the class)

PRE-STAGE I - Activity : warm-up

Time : 5 min



  1. First of all to ameliorate the atmosphere in the class and motivate students to follow the lesson , one warm-up activity comes in the pre stage of the class. 5 minutes is dedicated to this one. A teacher writes an action poem on the board

“”If you are happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it(clap your hands)

If you are happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it (check your teeth)

If you are happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it(kiss the air)

If you are happy and you know it,

And you really want to show it( shout “HURRA” HURRA!!!!)

WHILE -STAGE I Activity –“KILL THE FLY”

Time-15 min



  1. I use this activity when I desire to drill the previous topics’ vocabulary into students’ mind and it really works. Two students are called to come to the board and there should be written difficult words taught in the previous classes so far

For instance : free of charge, expensive,obviously,take a taxi…..

But intentionally we must write some words incorrectly among them for example:

Fri of charge, expinsive and so on.Sitting students will be buzzing like flies “bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz”

Teacher will tell one of the words’ translation in uzbek and students should clean and delete the incorrect word from the board.If they do it in the right way sitting students stop saying “bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz” and it continues like this . Frow my own experience it is not only much fun but also a great approach to make students aware of the spelling rules,pronounciation rules of the vocabulary which has been or being taught.

STAGE II Activity 3 -TBLT

Time - 10 min

Students are given cards of verbs,words which are collocations usually come together.In one pile there will be only verbs such as :


      • Learn,

      • Cook,

      • Play,

      • Read,

      • Drink

In another pile there will be :

      • English

      • Football

      • Books

      • Tea

      • Food

Students must be divided into 2 groups and given 10 minutes .After that, they will commence making correct combination of verbs and words like learn English,play football ,read books,drink tea….e.tc

POST –STAGE

In the post stage of the class after a teacher has given explanation on the grammar topic of “”WILL,SHALL” he makes students to make both oral and written sentences in the future tense with “shall, will” through the help of the learned new vocabulary in the class

For example :



Final stage :

A teacher says goodbye to students and gives home assignment for the next class.
