Eligibility  Requirements

  Nationality  /  Academic  Eligibilities

    1)  Freshmen

          ■  (Nationality  Eligibility)  An applicant with non-Korean nationality and both parents also having non-Korean nationality

          ■  (Academic  Eligibility)  Completed  primary  and  secondary  schools  either  in  Korea  or  outside  Korea

          ■  A  Korean  applicant  holding  dual  nationalities  cannot  apply  as  an  international  student

    2)  Transfer:  A Non Korean citizen applicant with non Korean citizen parents who meets one of requirements below

        (1)  Transfer  Sophomore  -  A 2 or 3-year college graduate or at least 1-year of enrollment at a 4-year university

        (2)  Transfer  Junior  –  Who  are  relevant  to  at  least  one  of  the  two  conditions  below.

              a.  at  least  2-years  of  enrollment  at  a  4-year  university

              b.  College  graduate  or  bachelor's  degree

        (3)  In  case  of  transfers,  HU-TOPIK(Hallym  University  TOPIK),  TOPIK  Level  2  are  not  accepted.  The 

applicants  must  hold  TOPIK  Level  3  or  above  or  one  of  below  English  certificates.

certificates  with  their  Secondary  or  High  school 

diploma.

Important  Notes  for  Applicants

1.  Documents  written  in  languages  other  than  English  or  Korean  must  be  accompanied  with  a 

complete  Korean  or  English  translation,  authenticated  by  the  issuing  institution  or  notarized  by  a 

public  notary. 

2.  Insufficient  documents  can  result  in  denial  of  visa  issuance.

3.  All  documents  submitted  will  NOT  be  returned  to  the  applicants  under  any  circumstance. 

However,  some  documents  that  cannot  be  reissued  can  be  returned  after  original  control. 

(Hugubu,  Diploma,  etc.)

4.  Name  and  date  of  birth  must  be  written  exactly  the  same  as  in  your  passport.  For  ‘emergency 

contact’,  please  write  down  your  E-mail  address  (Please  do  not  use  ‘hotmail’  accounts),  phone 

number  (including  dialing  codes)  and  postal  address.  We  may  need  to  contact  you,  using  this 

information,  so  please  ensure  it  is  written  correctly. 

5.  If  there  are  any  false  statements,  or  any  other  illegal  acts,  the  application  will  be               

rejected,  even  after  successful  applicants  have  been  announced.

6.  If  a  graduate-to-be  fails  to  acquire  a  diploma  before  the  entrance  date,  the  admission  will  be 

canceled.

7.  Any  newly  admitted  students  who  apply  for,  and  are  successful  in  their  application,  cannot 

reapply  within  the  same  year. 

8.  An  applicant’s  diploma  and  transcript  must  be  authenticated  by  Apostille  or  Consular 



Authentication. 

9.  All  newly  admitted  students  must  be  insured  (e.g.  Study  Abroad  Insurance  from  their  home 

country  +  provide  the  insurance  certificate).  If  those  who  already  have  insurance,  such  as  National 

insurance  of  Korea,  then  a  copy  of  the  certificate  must  be  submitted  to  International  Office. 

(Failure  to  submit  copies  of  insurance  documents  by  the  deadline  will  lead  to  the  rejection  of
