CHATEAU NICOT 

Entre-Deux-Mers  

 

Situated a little under 22 miles south of Bordeaux, on the right bank of the River Garonne, Château Nicot 

has enjoyed an enviable reputation for over two hundred years. 

 

APPELLATION D’ORIGINE CONTROLEE : Entre Deux Mers  

GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION : Escoussans, at the heart of the Haut-Benauge area. 

AREA PLANTED : 5 hectares (12.36 acres). 

YIELD : 60 hectolitres per hectare. 

PRODUCTION : aproximately 40,000 bottles. 

SOIL TYPE : limestone - clay. 

PRUNING METHOD : Single Guyot. 

GRAPE VARIETIES : 40% Sémillon, 40% Sauvignon, 20% Muscadelle. 

VINE AGE : 20 years. 

MATURING : in stainless steel tanks. 

VINE DENSITY: 4,000 vines per hectare.  

VINIFICATION : 12 hours maceration period with the skins, 5 days cold tank storage and slow, 

temperature-controlled fermentation. Maturing on fine lees with regular stirring. 

FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS : seafood and fish in sauce. Best served chilled at around 10°C 

(50°F).
