Theme: On the farm The aim of the lesson: Educational: To learn about animals and farms Developing: To develop memorising, reading, writing and speaking skills Socio-culture: To introduce awareness of different cultures Competence: SC1, SC and PC Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to use the name of different animals in English and answer the questions Type of the lesson: Non-standard, mixed Method of the lesson: Group work,pair work, individual work. Equipment: Prepare 2 nd pupils' book, work book , the DVD of the book and pictures,musics and posters. TECHNILOGICAL MAP OF THE LESSON :
THE PROCEDURE OF THE LESSON I. Organizing moment: - Greeting and checking the attendance II. Pre-activity : "Freezing" Play music out loud in your class and encourage children to dance. As soon as the music stops, children have to freeze on the spot, holding whatever position they were in. Stop the music suddenly and try to catch pupils out! It's a fun warm-up to get everyone active. III. While - activity : "Balancing beam"All you'll need for this game is some different coloured tape and some floor space. Stick some tape down on your floor and get children to walk across it like they would a balance beam. Get children to do something different for each colour beam. For example, children may need to hop across the blue beam and dance across the red beam. Pupils can imagine they're walking a tightrope across a canyon or balancing above a pit of lions to add tension! It's a fun game for children that you can do in your classroom or sports hall. Activity 1: Students should look at the workbook. There are given different pictures of animals. Students should look at the pictures carefully and should find and circle the correct name of that animal. Students should do that activity within 3 minutes. Activity 2: Writing activity. Students should look at the next activity. There are given different words which are related to various themes. Studens should look,read and find the name of animals. In addition to that students should circle the name of animals. They should do that activity in 5 minutes. IV. Post-activity: Revision In order to check students' understanding of the lesson, I implemented some post-activities to the lesson. Firstly, I gave several questions about animals to the students and they answered as much as they can. Also, I conducted discussion with students to improve their memorising skill. Last but not least, I asked for the students some new vocabularies and I evaluated some students according to their participation. V. Homework At the end of the lesson, I gave a task to the students as a homework. In this task, they should learn new words related to farm by heart.So, the lesson finished successfully.
