ENTRY #4 ON INTEGRATED COURSE OF FLT

Write a piece of reflection of your personal experiences of learning a foreign language with issues and studies covered in the course (200-300 words) focusing on the following questions:

1.What language learning strategies do you use in EFL? Provide examples how these strategies affect your language learning.

2. What language learning strategies would you like to develop and why?

1. Inderect language learning strategies are divided into: metocognitive, affective and social. Metocognitive strategies used by students to help to feel better to learn new language. Affective strategies used by learners to interest with other people. Social strategies used by learners to manage their own learning. Metacognitive strategies divided into 3 : centring your learning, arranging and planning, evaluating your language.

2. To plan my schedule to study. To look for people to talk in English. To be a better learner of English .

to look for opportunities to read in English .

to have clear goals .

to practice English with other students .

To think about my progress

To try to relax .

To write down my feelings in a diary

To talk to someone else about how I feel about English learning

To try to learn about the culture of English speakers .

To notice if I am tense or nervous when Im learning English .

To start conversations in English.

To skim an English passage, and read carefully.

To use new English words in a sentence.

To try not to translate word for word.

To guess what the other person will say next.

To remember words by remembering their location on the page etc.

To think of relationships between what already know and new things .

To remember a new word by making a mental picture

To try to find many ways to use English .

To use a word that means the same thing

To make guesses on unfamiliar English words

To use English in different ways

To notice my English mistakes .

To connect the sound and an image of the word------

Assessment criteria :

  1. 1.Task fulfilment (adhering to the requirements, punctuality, degree of frankness)-----



  1. 2.Adequate support with examples (personal experiences of learning a foreign language)



  1. 3.Quality of reflection (signs of critical thinking and ability to self-evaluate)-----



  1. 4.Ability to relate own experience to inputs on the course--------------
