Frank Slide Interpretive Centre

April 29,1903: 90 million tons of rock fell 

from Turtle Mountain burying three square 

kilometres of the Crowsnest Valley in less 

than 100 seconds.  At least 70 people died.  

The Centre tells the story of the Frank Slide 

against the backdrop of the rich history of 

the Crowsnest Pass and the grandeur of 

the Canadian Rockies.  View the award 

winning audio-visual presentation “In the 

Mountain’s Shadow”, enjoy the Centre’s 

exhibits and walking trail, and pause to 

picnic or shop at Rumblers Gift Shop. Just

Fort Museum of the North West 

Mounted Police 

The Fort Museum is dedicated to pre-

serving the rich history of the NWMP, 

RCMPand First Nations people through 

artifacts,displays and interactive 

programming.  Being the first NWMP Fort 

established in western Canada in 1874, it 

is also the birthplace of the RCMP Musical 

Ride.  Re-enactment rides are performed 

4 times daily in July and August. Our live 

theater production “March of the Red 

Coats” introduces key historical figures 

in a fun and educational setting for all
